Event: Marylebone Summer Fayre 2017
Date: Sunday 18th June 2017
Time: 11am – 5:30pm
…until 8pm in Paddington Street Gardens
Place: Marylebone Village, London W1
Organiser: The Howard de Walden Estate
Always taking place on a Sunday in June and now attracting more than 25,000 visitors, the Summer Fayre is a family-friendly and community street festival which sees the area around Marylebone High Street closed off to traffic for the day.
.
Stalls selling food and crafts or promoting local institutions take over the streets, creating a bustling
marketplace
.
Paddington Street Gardens hosts a stage with an impressive programme of live music, while dancers, fitness trainers and acoustic musicians perform at other locations around the site, often encouraging participation from the gathered revellers. The area’s status as a hub for excellent food and drink also comes to the fore, with visitors able to indulge in a vast array of culinary offerings from all over the world.
There is no shortage of activities for the children: from fairground rides to playground games, street dancing to street Shakespeare, drawing competitions to bread making classes, face painting to bicycle riding…
and a host of farm animals to pet at the Petting Zoo, courtesy of Vauxhall City Farm
As well as being a celebration, the Summer Fayre also creates an opportunity to raise money and awareness for charity.
